The Satellite Systems division develops and maintains expertise in design and analysis of satellite systems. Ground and space subsystem technologies are developed for new satellite systems in support to Industry Canada, the Canadian Space Agency and National Defence while helping out the Canadian industry.
The division has expertise and state-of–the-art tools to analyze satellite systems from which the government and the Canadian private sector can benefit during the planning and the coordination of the integration of new systems. The division also carries research and development activities on new ground and space subsystem technologies to address the needs of new satellite communication, navigation and search and rescue networks. These activities aim to support Canadian industry by easing the addition of advanced technologies in their products and making them more competitive via relevant technology transfers. To this end, the team assumes the leadership on satellite systems research and development effort by collaborating with universities and the private sector.
