Early adopter of the Software Communications Architecture (SCA), CRC's Advanced Radio System group (RARS) has been involved in the evolution and adaptation of the specification. Today, CRC offers a number of products and services for the development of Software Defined Radio (SDR) technology.

PRODUCTS

SCARI Software Suite

Offered under license agreement, this commercial product is CRC's high-performance software solution for your SDR development. It consists of three fully integrated modules:

• Full-featured Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) SCA Core Framework: SCARI++
  
  
  • SCARI++ is a full-featured C++ implementation of the SCA Core Framework version 2.2. It is flexible, completely configurable and easy to use.
• A Component Development Library (CDL) implementing complex SCA requirements and allowing developers to concentrate on the development of applications or devices.
• A Development Toolset that greatly simplifies the development of the SDR development lifecycle, be it to create SCA resources or devices, to assemble waveforms or platform nodes or to deploy and monitor applications. These tools are closely integrated with the SCARI++ core framework implementation to provide an even better interaction.

SCARI-Open

Developed under the sponsorship of the SDR Forum and the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS), SCARI-Open is an open source implementation of the SCA written in Java. It is meant to serve mainly as a reference implementation for educational purposes to allow industry, universities and others to quickly enter the SDR technology.

CRC offers technical courses on the SDR concepts and SCA design.

Technical Assistance and Support

We can also assist with implementing one of the CRC's SCA core frameworks on your radio hardware.

Our collaborative R&D initiative gives you access to our experience in taking radio concepts from the drawing board to finished blueprints and a working prototype.
