A Track Record of Achievements

BADLABTM has established a number of impressive achievements, including:

Photo of G7 applications trials.
  • the first two-way HDTV telemedicine video conference using ATM (CA*net II) with CRL-Japan, February 1998
  • the first transatlantic use of ATM for an artificial heart demonstration connecting doctors of the Ottawa and Berlin Heart Institutes, more than 5,000 kilometres apart
  • G7 application trials with T. Berkom-Germany, EXPERT-Switzerland, CSELT-Italy, and CRL-Japan
  • the extension of ATM over satellite offering broadband connectivity to remote locations for tele-education, telemedicine or industrial applications
  • extension of ATM over a broadband wireless network for testing local loop connectivity.
