CRC's Dr. Yiyan Wu is the latest recipient of the Federal Partners in Technology Transfer's (FPTT) Innovator Award, recognizing research excellence leading to technology transfer.
Selected for his research in DTV, satellite broadcasting, local multi-point distribution systems, multi-point microwave distribution systems and terrestrial multimedia broadcasting, Yiyan's work is known around the world and he is credited with having an economic impact of more than $1 million upon companies he has guided in technology transfer projects.
Yiyan received the award June 6, 2002 at the FPTT banquet for this year's conference, "Strategies for Protecting IP." The FPTT is a forum promoting model practices, entrepreneurial thinking and information sharing on ways to transfer and commercialize the technology and scientific expertise of Government of Canada laboratories.
Honoured to have been selected for the award, Yiyan says "there is nothing better than being recognized for what you and your colleagues are working on."
