The CRC has developed expertise and state-of-the-art tools to design and analyze ground and spacecraft subsystem technologies.  Working in collaboration with government, universities and the privat sector, these researchers are working on new applications for satellite communiction, navigation, and search and rescue networks.

This work supports Industry Canada's Spectrum Engineering branch in its regulatory activities, as well as Canadian firms bringing innovations into the market.  More specific engineering initiatives support the Canadian Space Agency in fields such as remote sensing.  The CRC is operating at the leading edge of key areas such as satellit communications traffic modeling and switching techniques, which can determine the ability to deliver the quality of service expected by users.
