The CRC President reports to the office of the Senior Associate Deputy Minister of Industry Canada, who reports to the Deputy Minister of Industry Canada.

CRC has four Core Functions: Broadband Network Technologies Research, Broadcast Technology Research, Satellite Communications and Radio Propagation, and Terrestrial Wireless Systems. Each of these Research Branches is headed by a Vice-President, who reports to the CRC President.

There are five corporate functions. The head of each of these groups also reports to the CRC President: Director-General Campus Operations and Services, Director of Information Networks and Systems, Excutive Vice-President of Marketing and Business Development, Director of Finance and Technology Transfer and Director of Human Resources.
