Bob Kuley, Acting ExecutiveVice-President
Bob Kuley, Acting Executive Vice-President, joined the Communications Research Centre's Space Electronics group in 1973 as a microelectronics engineer. There he worked on the development of fabrication processes for silicon and gallium arsenide devices. Mr. Kuley has held various research manager positions since 1980, and during the last 20 years has been heavily involved with the successful transfer of numerous CRC-developed microelectronic component technologies to Canadian industries.
In 1994, as Director of the Optoelectronics Technologies Division, Mr. Kuley led a team that implemented CRC's Broadband Applications and Demonstration Laboratory (BADLAB). This laboratory has since achieved worldwide recognition as one of Canada's premiere facilities for the demonstration of future information highway technologies and applications.
In 1998, Mr. Kuley was appointed Vice President of CRC's Broadband Network Technologies Branch, which is responsible for CRC's research activities in network systems and photonics.
Mr. Kuley is a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario, serves on many CRC and interdepartmental management committees and is also a member of the OCRI Research Management Board, the NCIT Technical Committee and the Ottawa Photonics Cluster (OPC) Founding CRC Advisory Council.
Bob Kuley has a B.Sc. degree from the University of Montreal (Loyola College) and B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees from Carleton University.
